About Branxton Community Hall
The Branxton Community Hall commenced its life as a YMCA hall at the Greta Army Camp for the soldiers training there. From 1949 to 1960’s, the hall was used by the migrants until it was purchased by the Branxton School of Arts. After some time, the hall was handed over to Cessnock Council which then formed a committee for the running of the hall for the community. The hall was the hub of the community with the many dances, weddings, engagement parties, fundraising nights, card nights and school presentations.
At present, the hall is booked 7 days a week with a variety of bookings eg:- Yoga classes, Hunta Karate (for nearly 25yrs), Dance Studio, GymBaroo (Babies & Toddlers classes), Christian Youth Group, Japanese Martial Arts, Saturday Night Dances, Church Services on Sunday morning and afternoon and many fundraising events, now the new kitchen is becoming a favorite for caterers and teachers.
The hall is very popular with the community. We are now looking at been a “WEDDING VENUE” for DIY weddings. Our new kitchen was recently completed with stainless steel benches, electrical appliances, Food Prep Area, Wet & Clean wash area in the kitchen, the area is user friendly.
